Unctuous Spiced Hot Chocolate

How about warming up your fall days with a delicious autumn-spiced hot chocolate? This recipe will infuse your home with warm scents and bring a touch of comfort to your day!

Ingredients

Makes 2 servings

1 ¾ cups Natura Barista Premium Oat beverage

¼ cup 70% dark chocolate, chopped

1 tbsp. cocoa

1 tbsp. granulated sugar

¼ tsp ground cinnamon

tsp ground cloves

tsp ground nutmeg

¼ tsp. vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Topping: whipped cream, grated dark chocolate and cinnamon for garnish


Instructions

  • Heat the Barista Premium Oat Drink over medium heat until it begins to simmer, but do not bring to boil.
  • Add the chocolate and cocoa, whisking continuously until the chocolate has completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • Add the sugar, spices and pinch of salt, whisking to combine the spices with the chocolate. Simmer for 2-3 minutes over low heat, continuing to whisk to develop the flavours.
  • Remove from heat and add vanilla extract. Pour into cups and, if desired, top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon or grated chocolate.
