{"id":920,"date":"2021-02-15T21:24:02","date_gmt":"2021-02-15T21:24:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/natura.ca\/recipes\/gateau-au-chocolat-avec-glacage-au-fudge\/"},"modified":"2023-06-13T11:44:07","modified_gmt":"2023-06-13T15:44:07","slug":"gateau-au-chocolat-avec-glacage-au-fudge","status":"publish","type":"recipes","link":"https:\/\/natura.ca\/en\/recipes\/gateau-au-chocolat-avec-glacage-au-fudge\/","title":{"rendered":"Chocolate cake with fudge icing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1 2\/3 cups<\/strong>&nbsp;all-purpose flour<br><strong>1 1\/2 cups<\/strong>&nbsp;organic sugar<br><strong>2\/3 cup<\/strong>&nbsp;cocoa powder<br><strong>1 1\/2 tsp<\/strong>&nbsp;baking powder<br><strong>1\/2 cup<\/strong>&nbsp;vegetable oil<br><strong>1 cup<\/strong>&nbsp;Natura soy or almond chocolate<br><strong>1\/2 cup<\/strong>&nbsp;water<br><strong>2 tsp<\/strong>&nbsp;lemon juice<br><strong>2<\/strong>&nbsp;eggs at room temperature<br><strong>2 tsp<\/strong>&nbsp;pure vanilla extract<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Icing<\/strong>&nbsp;:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>125 g<\/strong>&nbsp;dark chocolate<br><strong>1\/3 cup<\/strong>&nbsp;cocoa powder<br><strong>3\/4 cup<\/strong>&nbsp;Natura soy or almond chocolate<br><strong>1\/2 cup<\/strong>&nbsp;unsalted butter<br><strong>3 cups<\/strong>&nbsp;sifted icing sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Servings :<\/strong>&nbsp;12<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cake:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and dust 3 round 8&#8221; cake pans with cocoa powder. In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder and baking soda. Mix well.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In a separate bowl whip the Natura chocolate, oil, water, lemon juice, eggs and vanilla.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using an electric mixer, add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients and beat for approximately 30 seconds, until all the ingredients are well blended.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pour equal portions into all 3 pans and bake for 35 to 40 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When the cake is ready, allow to cool 10 to 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean. Remove from the pans and flip over to ensure that cake is fully cooled prior to icing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Icing:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In a medium-sized saucepan, on low heat, combine chocolate, cocoa powder, Natura chocolate and butter. Stir constantly until melted. (Careful not to boil). Remove from the heat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sift the icing sugar into a large Pyrex or stainless steel bowl. Blend in the chocolate sauce while beating the mixture. The consistency should remain rather liquid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours to thicken.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once chilled, beat until creamy so that the icing may be spread evenly between each layer and over the cake.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once iced, the cake will keep covered, at room temperature, for 2 days.
