{"id":2543,"date":"2023-10-28T21:04:21","date_gmt":"2023-10-29T01:04:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/natura.ca\/?post_type=recipes&#038;p=2543"},"modified":"2023-10-28T21:05:54","modified_gmt":"2023-10-29T01:05:54","slug":"butter-tofu","status":"publish","type":"recipes","link":"https:\/\/natura.ca\/en\/recipes\/butter-tofu\/","title":{"rendered":"Butter Tofu"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 block extra firm tofu, cubed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tbsp. cornstarch<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tbsp. olive oil<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 onion, diced small<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 garlic cloves, minced<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 tbsp. vegan butter<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 1\/2 cups Natura&#8217;s almond milk<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tbsp. garam masala<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tsp. curry powder<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tbsp. ginger powder<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1\/3 cup tomato paste<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>For Serving:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4 cups cooked rice<br>Naan<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preheat the oven to 425\u00b0F (220\u00b0C).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cube the tofu (without pressing), place it in a large bowl, and cover with cornstarch and olive oil, making sure each piece is completely coated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place the tofu cubes on a baking tray and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown.<br>While the tofu is cooking, let&#8217;s make the sauce: Melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add in the onion and saut\u00e9 for 3-5 minutes in the butter, then add in the garlic and cook for an extra 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add in the spices, tomato paste, and milk. Allow the mixture to simmer for 5-10 minutes, making sure you stir it frequently.
