{"id":2487,"date":"2023-09-23T19:24:16","date_gmt":"2023-09-23T23:24:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/natura.ca\/?post_type=recipes&#038;p=2487"},"modified":"2023-09-23T19:24:17","modified_gmt":"2023-09-23T23:24:17","slug":"scalloped-potatoes","status":"publish","type":"recipes","link":"https:\/\/natura.ca\/en\/recipes\/scalloped-potatoes\/","title":{"rendered":"Scalloped potatoes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 2 cups Natura&#8217;s soy milk<br>\u2022 1 cup vegan mozzarella cheese<br>\u2022 \u00bd cup vegan parmesan cheese, grated<br>\u2022 6 medium potatoes, peeled<br>\u2022 3 tbsp. vegan butter<br>\u2022 3 tbsp. all-purpose flour<br>\u2022 2 tbsp. nutritional yeast<br>\u2022 1 tbsp. parsley<br>\u2022 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped<br>\u2022 \u00bd tbsp. freshly grated black pepper<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0F.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using a mandoline, slice the peeled potatoes to approximately 3mm thickness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the butter. Once melted, add in the garlic and cook until fragrant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the flour and whisk to form a thick roux. Pour in 1 cup of milk and whisk until you have a smooth white sauce. Stir in the nutritional yeast and pepper. Gradually add the remaining cup of milk, stirring until the sauce is smooth. Allow it to simmer for 5 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Arrange half of the potato slices at the bottom of an oiled baking dish. Pour half of the sauce over the potatoes, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle \u00bd cup of the mozzarella cheese on top.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Layer the remaining potatoes, then pour over the rest of the sauce. Finish with the remaining mozzarella cheese and the parmesan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bake for 45 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
